Can you really
imagine your life without Google? It is this one amazing thing that has
happened to everybody. Whenever we have any question or doubt, it is only
Google we go to, right? It has become such an important part of our daily lives
that without it, life would simply become something, we don't think, you would
like to picture. On its 17th birthday, Google has created a very simple doodle
that will take you down to the web of the 1990s.
We use it every
day but do we really know enough about the search engine? Let's read some
really amazing facts on Google on its 17th.

Google:
- Google's original name was Backrub
- It was also named after the mathematical
term 'Googol'. However, one of the founders misspelled it as 'Google' and
it remained like that
- The company's unofficial motto is 'Don't
be evil'
- Since, the founders of Google were not
keen to start their own business; they had even tried to sell Google. The
founders tried to sell the search engine to Yahoo! but it said 'No'
- In 2002, Yahoo! tried to buy Google for 3
billion dollars but the founders said 'No'
- The first Google doodle was designed to
tell its users that the founders were out-of-office to attend the Burning
Man festival and hence, they will not be able to solve the technical
issues
- On April 1, 2000, Google tried to fool
its users by announcing its mind reading ability for the search
'MentalPlex'
- After that incident, when Gmail was
launched on April 1, 2004, many users believed that it was also a prank by
the Google founders
